Patricia (Pat) E. Lummus

Executive Director

As Executive Director, Pat Lummus leads strategy and operations for the Sartain Lanier Family Foundation. She has held this position for eight years, having previously worked as the Associate Director of the Foundation for ten years.

Pat serves in leadership positions for Philanthropy Southeast and the Georgia Grantmakers Alliance. She also serves on the Emory Brain Health Center Executive Advisory Council, the Board of Advisors for the Atlanta Partners for Education, and the Advisory Council for Odyssey Atlanta. She recently completed the Education Policy Fellowship Program managed by the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education. Additionally, Pat is a Stephen Minister at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, Pat began her career at the fundraising consulting firm Alexander Haas, and later worked as an independent consultant with nonprofit clients. She and her husband, Bill, are the proud parents of three grown children.

Annie Appleton

Program Director

Annie Appleton works directly with the Sartain Lanier Family Foundation’s current and prospective grantees throughout the grantmaking and impact measurement process. Annie previously held roles of reading teacher, STEM curriculum designer, coach for new teachers and fundraising professional. Her community involvement includes Atlanta Civic Collaboratory, LEAD Atlanta, Reynoldstown Civic Improvement League and the Friends of Lang Carson Park with Park Pride. Annie lives in Atlanta with her husband, Chris, and two young children.
